One of the greatest battles every believer faces is not a battle with sin, with circumstances, or even with other people. It is a battle with identity.
The enemy’s primary strategy has never changed since the Garden of Eden. His first words to Eve were not “do something wrong” — they were “did God really say?” He attacks what you believe about God, and more specifically, what you believe about yourself in relation to God.
You are not who your past says you are.
Scripture is overwhelmingly clear. When you receive Jesus Christ, something profound and permanent happens. You are not just forgiven — you are made new. You are not just cleaned up — you are transferred from one kingdom to another. You do not just get a second chance — you get a brand new nature.
In Him you are the righteousness of God (2 Cor. 5:21). In Him you are more than a conqueror (Rom. 8:37). In Him you are seated in heavenly places (Eph. 2:6). In Him you are accepted, chosen, and deeply loved (Eph. 1:4-6).
The challenge is this — knowing these truths in your head and actually living from them in your heart are two very different things. Many believers can quote these verses yet still live beneath what God has already provided.
Renewing the mind is not optional.
Romans 12:2 tells us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. This is a daily, intentional practice of choosing to believe what God says above what your feelings, your past, or your circumstances tell you.
Start today. Open the Word. Find out what God says about you IN Him. Meditate on it. Speak it out. Let it become the loudest voice in your life.
You are not who you were. You are who He says you are.
